Qualifications

Russ received his Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia State University in 1979, his Masters’ Degree from Marshal University in 1980, and his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1995. He has over 25 years of experience in the Workers’ Compensation Industry and has been defending employers and workers’ compensation insurance carriers since 1996. He has represented clients in front of Judges of Compensation Claims in every jurisdiction in the State of Florida but focuses his practice in Southwest Florida. He has also successfully defended many clients before the 1st District Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Florida Bar (Workers’ Compensation Section), the Council on Litigation Management, and has been AV rated as a Preeminent Lawyer by Martindale Hubbell since 2006. He is Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation by the Florida Bar and has served on the Workers’ Compensation Board Certification Grade Review Panel. Prior to entering law school, Russ was the Director of Loss Control and Underwriting at one of Florida’s largest Workers’ Compensation Insurance Carriers. He is certified by the Florida Department of Financial Services as a Workers’ Compensation Instructor and frequently lectures on Workers’ Compensation matters.
