Hi Team,
I hope everyone is enjoying their week. Great news – the weekend is almost here! This week’s Georgia tip covers a question we see a lot regarding the employer’s Panel of Physicians:
Common Panel Question: The Panel of Physicians has specific doctors listed under a medical provider. If the Claimant selects that medical provider, are they limited to the doctors listed?
ANSWER: Yes!
- If the Panel of Physicians lists SPECIFIC doctors under a medical provider, the Claimant is limited to those doctors.
- If the Panel does NOT list specific doctors under the medical provider, the Claimant can treat with any doctor that works at that office (and is willing to accept them as a patient).
- EXAMPLE: If the Claimant selects Georgia Hand & Shoulder from the attached Panel of Physicians, they must choose between Dr. Payne, Dr. Howell, and Dr. Starr.
As always, feel free to email/call/text if you tun into any GA questions or issues!
Sincerely,
John Fennelly | Junior Partner
