I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend.
The end of the year is rapidly approaching and, as we all know, claimants ALWAYS want to settle close to the holiday season which causes mediation spots to fill up absurdly fast. It seems the end-of-the-year settlement rush has already started, so this week’s tip is to avoid the end-of-the-year settlement rush, and schedule mediations now! Scheduling early:
- Ensures mediation by the end of this year,
- gives you plenty of time to obtain settlement authority, and
- decreases your chances of getting stuck with a claimant-friendly mediator that likely golfed with opposing counsel this past weekend.
