Morgan’s Tip of the Week- 2025 FL fee schedule increase and MSA’s
Greetings,
Effective 1/1/25, 105 days from now, the Florida WC fee schedule for surgeries and physician visits is increasing fairly significantly. Surgeries will cost 50% more and doctor’s visits will cost 60% more (see below).
Now may be the opportune time to run a Medicare Set Aside on any claims where there are future surgeries on the horizon. We can submit to CMS now to lock in the current lower pricing before 2025. Of course this should be determined on a case-by-case basis, but I wanted to just point out this strategy to save significant costs on future settlements. Once an MSA is approved it is pretty much locked. So if you get an MSA approved in December2024 but do not settle until later in 2025, the MSA will hold.
